Connect. Prevent. Protect.
“Trauma-informed is a cultural shift that we are all responsible for.”
As a survivor of child sexual abuse, I know first hand the lifelong impact trauma can have and what’s possible when children and adults are truly seen, heard and protected. My work is driven by a deep commitment to creating safer spaces through connection, prevention and protection. With my lived experience, I have developed unique resources, training and frameworks with a trauma informed lens and evidence based approach.
Hi, I’m John.
I’m a Disclosure Response Specialist, Body Safety Educator, and Speaker with lived experience.
My two year experience of childhood sexual abuse at the age of six, and 30+ years on my healing journey have allowed me to navigate trauma and now formulate what helped create the foundation of my healing journey – connection and a sense of belonging.
Through my experience, I learned that no matter our past experiences (or present challenges), nurturing connection and a sense of belonging is the catalyst for not allowing our past to dictate our future.
My mission is to share the importance of connection, prevention, and protection – creating environments where children and adults feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.

I’ve had the privilege of hearing John Cardamone speak on a number of occasions, and each time I’ve come away feeling moved, informed, and deeply grounded in purpose. John has an extraordinary ability to speak about child sexual abuse, one of the most complex and painful topics; with honesty, care, and even moments of lightness. His approach makes the difficult more bearable, and in doing so, opens up space for genuine learning and connection.
